Point Lobos State Natural Reserve
Redesign of public facing website and docent intranet
Deliverables
We updated and redesigned the Point Lobos Foundation website with custom features that provide users with extensive information to plan their visit to the Point Lobos State Reserve and find resources to learn about the wildlife, environment, geology and history of the park. Educators can schedule docent led walks on the site and find a tremendous amount of educational content to share with students before a visit. Hikers can view an detailed trail map and find docent led walks to plan their day’s adventure. We made it easy to become a member or donate to the foundation and discover more about the organization. The PLF website serves as platform to promote conservation of the reserve and educate park visitors about the importance of preserving this national treasure.
We also created a custom well-used intranet for the 250+ volunteer docents at Point Lobos as a communication, training and planning tool.

Results
Having worked with the Point Lobos Foundation for the past 13 years has allowed us to develop, refine and grow an important set of communication tools for the organization. The public facing website, pointlobos.org, is well used by visitors and provides the park the platform needed to spread their conservation message and provide information to their ever increasing set of visitors. The docent intranet has greatly deepened the sense of community and connection among volunteers as they share news, photos, scheduling availability and resources within the group.
